I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I knew I wanted to become a writer in high school upon discovering Frederick Exley's A Fan's Notes—the book I was reading when I was supposed to be reading A Separate Peace.
My work has appeared frequently in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Slate, Architectural Digest, and The Washington Post. For the last decade much of my writing has explored the intersection of climate change, politics, law, culture, and public policy.
I live in Brooklyn, New York, with my wife and two daughters.
